Tiger Cub, Tiger Temple, Thailand
Wednesday 4th June 2008
The Tiger Temple is a Buddhist temple and animal sanctuary near Kanchanaburi in Thailand which houses various animals including approximately 28 tigers with ages ranging from cubs to fully grown adults. As most of the tigers were born there, and also because of their diet, the animals are unbelievably tame and allow the public to stroke them and be photographed with them! Not all of the tigers that live there can be handled, but as we walked down into the ‘Tiger Canyon’ there were at least 6 adults lounging around that didn’t mind one bit. It’s a little unnerving to sit down next to a fully grown tiger and scratch him behind the ear, I mean they are just huge animals. There were also some tiger cubs that were almost too busy playing with each other to even notice that a string of different people were sitting down next to them and tickling them!
