Yangshou Valley, China
Wednesday 2nd July 2008
Today we went on a bike ride around the Dragon River which got us right out in the countryside to see the farmers and paddy fields that dominate the open land. We stopped to climb a local natural feature, Moon Mountain, a large Kast with a hole through it. We walked 600 steps to the top and were rewarded by 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape. The odd thing was that we were all followed to the top by these old ladies who insisted on fanning us and carrying heavy cool boxes full of drinks which they attempted to sell to us at an inflated price at the top. God knows haw many times a day they did that climb but once was enough for me.
